Trellis Life

This design thesis aims to create a solution to the issues of the future relocation of farmers, the rising food demand due to population increase and food security in Shanghai, China.

 

This project will hopefully be able to help them to stay within the same place where they are now while at the same time would not be too affected by the situation of losing their farm in the future. The housing will incorporate community gardening component which will help them continue their activity in the agriculture industry. By having this component, the quality of food produced will be monitored more closely by the whole community which will help with the issue of food security. The community garden would also act as the main source for food production, which will hopefully improve the situation of the food demand in China.
